The Question Behind Every Showroom Visit
Before a client chooses a material, almost everyone asks some version of the same question: what is this actually going to cost? It is a reasonable question and we prefer to answer it honestly rather than giving vague ranges that leave you more uncertain than when you started.
Here is the real pricing picture for stone countertops in Montreal in 2026.
What the Installed Price Includes
When you receive a countertop quote from Ceraxo, the installed price includes the material slab, CNC fabrication, edge profiling, sink and cooktop cutouts, delivery, professional installation, and initial sealing for natural stone. There are no hidden charges for standard installations.
Honest Pricing by Material
Granite runs from about $60 per square foot installed at the entry level, through $90 to $130 for mid-range domestic and imported stones, up to $150 and beyond for rare exotic slabs from Brazil or India with exceptional crystal formations.
Quartz starts around $70 per square foot for entry-level products, climbs to $95 to $140 for mid-range options from Hanstone and similar brands, and reaches $150 to $200 and above for premium Caesarstone, Cambria, and Silestone collections.
Marble entry-level — Carrara and similar Italian stones — runs $80 to $120 per square foot installed. Calacatta varieties range from $120 to $200 depending on the slab quality and veining drama. Statuario and rare exotic marbles can reach $250 to $350 and beyond.
Large-format porcelain slabs range from $65 to $100 for standard products and $100 to $200 for premium technical surfaces like Dekton and Neolith.
What Moves the Price Up
The base material is only part of the equation. Several factors add meaningfully to the final cost.
Waterfall edges on kitchen islands require significantly more material and fabrication precision than standard countertops — budget an additional $500 to $2,000 depending on island size. Decorative edge profiles like ogee, dupont, or custom sculptural edges add $20 to $50 per linear foot over a standard eased edge. Each sink or cooktop cutout adds roughly $100 to $200.
Slab thickness matters too. A 3cm slab costs more than a 2cm slab but looks substantially more substantial and does not require a laminated edge build-up for that full-thickness appearance.
A Real Montreal Kitchen Example
A typical Montreal kitchen with 45 square feet of counter space, mid-range quartz at $110 per square foot, a standard waterfall island, and one undermount sink cutout would come out to approximately $5,500 to $6,500 fully installed. A similar kitchen in Carrara marble would be roughly $4,500 to $5,500. Granite at a mid-level would be comparable.
These are honest estimates, not minimums designed to get you in the door. The final quote depends on your specific layout and material choice.
